From around 1862, Josef Bettelheim owned a linen shop in Graz, which he ran jointly
with an unnamed business partner. This shop closed in 1863, and the merchandise was sold off.
Bettelheim also founded a satirical weekly magazine called "Steirer-Seppl,"
in which the advertisement for his playing card factory appeared on June 3, 1866.
As editor of this magazine, he was very careless and was repeatedly taken to court
for defamation. The magazine continued publication until 1894.
I could find no entries for Josef Bettelheim in the church records and archives of Graz;
therefore, his biography is currently unknown.
